The data shows that the conviction rate in such cases remains low, even as the number of reported sexual offences continues to rise.

Areas witnessing a heavy tourist influx and higher population density have recorded a higher number of such crimes, according to the data.

Calangute, Anjuna, Porvorim, Mapusa and Pernem police stations have registered a significant number of FIRs related to sexual offences during the period.
