A senior citizen has filed a complaint with Curchorem Police alleging that a road-rage confrontation involving Rahul Faldessai, son of Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai, escalated into an alleged pursuit involving another SUV and three unidentified men.

Shantaram V. Kudchadkar, in his complaint dated September 28, alleged that the incident occurred on September 26 between approximately 8.15 pm and 9 pm while he was travelling towards Margao with his daughter-in-law and grandchildren.

According to the complaint, the family was travelling in a Mercedes SUV when another SUV, bearing registration number GA 07 P 4499, allegedly obstructed their passage near Pontemol Junction, close to Rajyadhyax Grocery Shop. The vehicle was allegedly positioned diagonally on the road, leading to traffic accumulation.

The complainant alleged that his daughter-in-law repeatedly sounded the horn after the vehicle failed to move. He claimed that a man later identified as Rahul Faldessai then got out of the SUV and allegedly used abusive language towards her.

Kudchadkar further alleged that when he approached the occupants and asked them to clear the road, they initially did not respond. The SUV allegedly moved after several people arrived at the location.

The complaint alleges that the confrontation did not end there. While travelling towards Margao, the family allegedly noticed Faldessai along with two or three other persons near their vehicle. The complainant claimed that one of them appeared to be carrying a rod or stick and that they made aggressive gestures.

Fearing further confrontation, the family allegedly moved their SUV towards the side of the road. The complainant claimed that the other SUV followed them, raising concerns that their vehicle could be hit or an accident could take place.

The alleged pursuit continued towards Ambedkar Circle, where the complainant claimed his vehicle was briefly forced to stop. The other SUV allegedly then crossed the traffic signal and left towards Quepem.

Kudchadkar stated that he later sought the vehicle's ownership details through his son and identified the person allegedly driving the SUV.

The complainant has requested Curchorem Police to register an FIR and take action against Faldessai and three unidentified persons. The complaint refers to Sections 126, 130, 351 and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, relating to allegations including wrongful restraint, intimidation, assault and intentional insult.

Police action on the complaint is awaited, and the allegations made by the complainant have not been independently established.
