Just as election momentum had Goans feeling hopeful for better days, new complaints of job scams and land fraud have surfaced across the state. Porvorim police have arrested a woman suspected of being involved in a scam worth lakhs of rupees.

A total of 10 complaints have been registered against the accused at the Mandrem, Colvale, Mapusa, and Old Goa police stations. She allegedly duped victims of around Rs 50 lakh by promising government jobs, including positions as teachers, police sub-inspectors, and drivers. Several others were scammed out of large sums with promises of land or flats.
