A family in Porvorim allegedly lost gold valuables worth around ₹30 lakh after their domestic help took advantage of their absence and reportedly cleaned out the house within just half an hour.
According to the information available, the family had gone to a temple when the domestic worker allegedly used the opportunity to steal the valuables from the house.
In a separate incident, thieves broke into the bungalow of a former Mapusa Municipal Chairperson at Ganeshpuri, Mapusa, and allegedly stole gold valuables worth lakhs.
Police conducted a panchanama and registered a case in connection with the theft. Further investigation is underway.
