Two separate house burglary incidents have been reported in Goa, with thieves allegedly making away with gold, cash and other valuables worth lakhs.

At Demani in Cuncolim, unidentified persons allegedly cut the window grills of a house and gained entry into the premises. The burglars reportedly escaped with gold ornaments and other valuables estimated to be worth lakhs. Police are investigating the incident and efforts are underway to identify those responsible.

In another incident at Bamanbhati in Harmal, a house belonging to Krishna Naik was allegedly burgled while the residence was unattended between 8 pm and 11 pm on September 16.

Naik returned home at around 11 pm and reportedly found the main door open. On entering, he noticed that cupboards and other belongings had been disturbed. A subsequent inspection revealed that around ₹2 lakh in cash and jewellery worth approximately ₹10 lakh were missing.

The stolen jewellery reportedly includes a mangalsutra, bangles, a ring, a chain and a watch strap, among other items.

Mandrem Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Police are working to identify the unidentified accused and trace the stolen property.
