AAP Working President and Chinchinim-Deussua Sarpanch Gerson Gomes has been hospitalised at South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) following an alleged assault inside the panchayat office.

Gomes was allegedly attacked by Malcolm Pereira at the panchayat office. He was initially taken to Balli Primary Health Centre after the incident and was later shifted to SGDH when his condition reportedly worsened.

Gomes is currently admitted to the surgery ward, where he is undergoing treatment. He is reportedly suffering from hairline fractures and chest pain following the alleged assault.

The incident has prompted a strong reaction from the Aam Aadmi Party, which has demanded that police register an FIR against Malcolm Pereira and take immediate action.

AAP Goa President Valmiki Naik, Senior Vice President Sandesh Teleikar-Dessai, Velim MLA Cruz Silva and Organising Secretary Prashant Naik, along with Gomes’ family, have condemned the alleged attack.

The party leaders have called for a thorough investigation and appropriate legal action, while Gomes continues to receive medical treatment at SGDH.
