A 25-year-old student of the Goa Institute of Management (GIM) allegedly suffered serious injuries after a fellow student attacked her with a knife while she was sleeping inside her hostel room at Poriem in Sattari.

The incident reportedly occurred around 2.45 pm on September 5 at Room No. 2205 of Hostel No. 2 on the GIM college campus.

According to the complaint, the accused, a 26-year-old student residing in the same hostel, allegedly entered the complainant’s room while she was asleep. The accused then allegedly attacked her with a knife, striking her on the neck and causing serious bleeding injuries.

The complainant further alleged that the accused inflicted cut injuries on her hands before threatening to kill her and issuing further threats of dire consequences.

Following the complaint, Valpoi Police registered Crime No. 42/2026 under Sections 109 and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police are investigating the alleged attack and the circumstances leading to the incident.
