A high profile personality was fired at in Porvorim just 100 mt away from the Porvorim Police Station and North Goa SP HQ.

An attempt was allegedly made on the life of Casino Majestic director Shrinivas Nayak. He and his security person were fortunately not harmed during the incident.

12 hours after the alleged assailants first appeared on the CCTV of the Hotel, police remain clueless about their identity and whereabouts.

“3 shots were fired at me. My security person fired back. Then they fled by crossing the highway," Nayak told Prudent.

This incident has sent shockwaves across Goa as it happened just next to one of the busiest highways in the state.

“Investigation is underway. We are trying to locate the suspects," North Goa SP Harish Madkaikar told the media.

Opposition parties have reacted sharply to the incident calling it a ‘complete collapse of law and order in the state’.
