UTAA President Prakash Velip said the Maha Melava, earlier scheduled to be held at Azad Maidan in Panaji on August 13, will now take place at Kranti Maidan in Mardol.

Velip said the organisers received a letter informing them that permission to hold the meeting at Azad Maidan in Panaji had been denied. Following the denial, the organisers decided to shift the venue to Kranti Maidan, Mardol.

He said the change in venue would not affect the organisation's objective and that UTAA remains committed to securing political reservation for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community in Goa.

Velip said the demand for ST political reservation remains a priority and asserted that the organisation would continue its efforts to ensure that the issue is addressed before the 2027 Goa Assembly elections.
