Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said Union Home Minister Amit Shah has given a positive assurance that the long-pending issue of political reservation for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community will be resolved at the earliest.

Speaking to the media after returning to Goa from New Delhi, Sawant said he held discussions with Shah on several issues concerning the state, with political reservation for the ST community being one of the key agenda items.
"The Home Minister has given a positive assurance and said that the issue will be sorted out at the earliest," Sawant said.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the Centre would take the necessary steps to move the process forward, a long-standing demand of Goa's tribal community.
