St Cruz MLA Rodolfo Fernandes on Saturday objected to the opening of a second BJP office in the constituency, alleging that the move was politically motivated and aimed at obstructing his development work.

Speaking to reporters, Fernandes said he had no objection to anyone opening an office in St Cruz, but questioned the need for two offices of the same political party in a single constituency.
"I don't care who opens an office in St Cruz, but there shouldn't be two offices of the same party in one constituency," Fernandes said.
The MLA also took aim at the personal assistant of fellow BJP leader Babush Monserrate, alleging that the individual's intentions were "not good" and that attempts were being made to create hurdles in the developmental works being carried out in the constituency.
"The intention of Babush's PA is not good. He is trying to create hurdles in my development work," Fernandes alleged.
Despite the criticism, Fernandes reaffirmed his loyalty to the BJP leadership, saying the party is guided by principles and that he has full faith in both the party and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
"The BJP is a party of principles, and I have full faith in the party and the Chief Minister," he said.
