CCP Mayor Rohit Monserrate has opposed allowing bars in the Sao Tome area of Panaji to remain open until 5 a.m., calling for greater discipline among establishments holding bar trade licences.

“We don’t want to privatise the Captain of Ports jetty or the Captain of Ports building at the jetty. We will bring some discipline among bar trade licence holders. I am especially not in favour of bars remaining open until 5 a.m. in the Sao Tome area of Panaji,” Monserrate said.

Meanwhile, Minister and Panaji MLA Atanasio Monserrate has written to the Urban Development Department seeking the handover of the Campal Football Ground to the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP).

The CCP Council thanked and congratulated Atanasio Monserrate for the initiative.
