Minister Ramesh Tawadkar has rejected Congress’ allegations of excessive expenditure on the 2026 Prerna Divas celebrations, insisting that there is no truth in the claims surrounding the reported ₹4.5 crore spending.

Congress had questioned the expenditure on the event, alleging that more money than necessary had been spent.

Responding to the allegations, Tawadkar said tenders for the programme were floated after checking the market rates of the materials required. He maintained that there was no need to make allegations against him and said those seeking further details should approach the director concerned.

The minister’s clarification comes amid Congress’ questions over the cost of organising the event.A
