Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has urged youngsters to remain vigilant against drug abuse, warning that drug addiction can begin through friendships and peer pressure.

Stressing the BJP government's efforts to make Goa and India drug-free, Sawant cautioned that youngsters may initially be lured into drug use by friends who offer substances for free.

He warned that once a young person becomes addicted, the individual may resort to desperate or harmful measures to obtain drugs.

The Chief Minister appealed to the youth to be cautious about their company and avoid falling into the trap of substance abuse.

Sawant reiterated the need for awareness among youngsters and stressed the importance of collective efforts to achieve the goal of a drug-free Goa and India.
