Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has clarified that the Goa government has not granted any licence to a new casino and will not issue licences to any new casino.

“We have not given any licence to any new casino. The six existing casinos are old, and we will not give any licence to any new casino,” Sawant said.

The Chief Minister’s statement makes it clear that the government does not intend to expand the number of casinos operating in the state, while the existing six casinos will continue under the applicable rules and regulations.
