The long-pending sewerage issue dominated the Chicalim Gram Sabha, with locals demanding that no further construction licences be issued until the sewerage problems in the village are resolved.

Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav said he would write to the Sewerage Corporation, the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) and Minister Mauvin Godinho, seeking intervention and appropriate action to address the concerns raised by villagers.

Residents expressed concern over the unresolved sewerage problems and called for concrete measures before permitting further construction in the area. The demand reflects growing concerns over the impact of development on existing civic infrastructure.

The Gram Sabha also witnessed questions over the inauguration of the Mahila Bhavan, which was reportedly held without inviting the sarpanch.

Yadav said he was not invited to the inauguration function attended by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Minister Mauvin Godinho. He said the omission had hurt him and the sentiments of local residents, adding that such an instance sets a wrong precedent.
