With the 2027 Goa Assembly elections drawing closer, political debate over pre-poll alliances has already intensified, with differing views emerging from within the BJP-MGP alliance.

Speaking on Prudent's Head On, Cabinet Minister Subhash Shirodkar said the BJP does not require an alliance to return to power in Goa, expressing confidence in the party's ability to secure a majority on its own.

His remarks triggered a response from MGP leader and Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, who said political equations cannot be decided based on the statements of individual leaders at the local level.

Dhavalikar maintained that decisions on pre-poll alliances and seat-sharing would ultimately be taken by the respective party leaderships at the appropriate time.
