The accused owners in the Birch nightclub fire tragedy and document forgery cases — Saurabh Luthra, Gaurav Luthra and Ajay Gupta — surrendered before the Mapusa Additional Sessions Court on Monday following the cancellation of their bail.
After their surrender, all three accused were lodged in Colvale Jail.
The High Court had cancelled the bail granted to the three accused on August 18. They subsequently approached the Supreme Court challenging the order.
However, on August 31, the Supreme Court dismissed the petitions filed by the Luthra brothers and Ajay Gupta, declining to interfere with the High Court’s decision.
With the Supreme Court refusing relief, the three accused surrendered before the Mapusa court and were taken into custody.
