The Mormugao Deputy Collector, along with Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar, convened a joint meeting on Wednesday to review arrangements and safety measures for the upcoming Ganesh Festival in the taluka.

The meeting was attended by officials from various departments, including the Police, Mormugao Municipal Council and other concerned agencies.

As part of the festival guidelines, the Deputy Collector directed that DJ music will not be permitted during Ganesh processions. Only Dindi and traditional musical instruments will be allowed during processions.

The meeting also focused on the registration of Sarvajanik Ganesh pandals in Mormugao. Officials noted that there are around 40 public Ganesh pandals in the taluka, while only approximately 16 are officially registered. Authorities directed organisers to complete the necessary registration process.

Safety during Ganesh idol immersions was another key focus of the meeting. Devotees have been urged to cooperate with Drishti lifeguards and follow their instructions during immersion activities.
