Local residents near the Mapusa Tar River, a traditional site for Ganesh idol immersion, have raised serious concerns after discovering discarded idols and framed pictures of Hindu deities.

Several religious frames, including intact and damaged images of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Hanuman, were found left among household waste, plastic debris, and broken glass.

The incident has troubled locals, who are appealing to the community to dispose of sacred items respectfully. Citizens are calling for better public awareness and stronger waste management to prevent desecration and keep the area clean and holy.
