Goa will have fewer weekday breaks in 2027, with eight of the 18 notified public holidays coinciding with Saturdays and Sundays, leaving employees with fewer opportunities for additional days off.

According to the 2027 holiday schedule, Mahashivratri and Eid-e-Milad have been included in the list of restricted holidays instead of the main public holiday calendar.

Several important occasions, including Ganesh Chaturthi (Chavath), Independence Day and Goa Liberation Day, will also fall on weekends, meaning these holidays will not provide an additional weekday break.

The weekend overlap is likely to be a concern for employees who look forward to public holidays for planning family time, travel and other activities.

With eight holidays coinciding with weekends, the 2027 calendar offers fewer effective weekday holidays despite having 18 public holidays listed.
