Goa reverberated with the sounds of drums, devotional songs and chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya” as devotees across the state bid an emotional farewell to Lord Ganesha during the 1.5-day Ganesh Visarjan.
Families and communities carried their idols in colourful processions to nearby immersion sites, marking the end of the first phase of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Devotees performed the traditional aarti before carrying their beloved Bappa for visarjan, with streets witnessing a festive atmosphere filled with music, dance and devotion.
Several immersion points across Goa witnessed a steady flow of devotees, while police and civic authorities made arrangements for crowd management, traffic regulation and the smooth conduct of the visarjan.
For many families, the immersion was an emotional moment as they bid farewell to their Ganesha idols, seeking blessings for happiness, prosperity and the well-being of their loved ones.
With the traditional chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudchya Varshi Lavkar Ya”, Goa witnessed the conclusion of the 1.5-day celebrations, as devotees looked forward to welcoming Bappa again next year.
