The quiet village of Marcel came alive with loud chants of "Jai Vitthal, Hari Vitthal" as devotees gathered to celebrate the traditional festival of Chikhal Kalo.

Held right after Ashadhi Dwadashi, this festival brings people together through fun and devotion. Devotees of all ages waded and rolled through the slippery mud, recreating Lord Krishna’s childhood games in Vrindavan. People from across Goa joined in, setting aside differences of age and background. While elders prayed with emotional respect, children and youth played in the mud with pure delight.
