Former Tehelka editor Tarun Tejpal, convicted in the 2013 sexual assault case involving his former colleague, surrendered before the Mapusa Additional Sessions Court on Monday.

Tejpal surrendered following the Suprme court’s direction after the High Court convicted him and sentenced him to 10 years’ imprisonment in the case. The court had also directed him to surrender.

After surrendering, Tejpal said, “We are in the Supreme Court, and we are sure justice will come. Not to worry.”

The case dates back to 2013 and involves allegations of sexual assault against a former female colleague. Tejpal’s legal battle has continued through various stages of the judicial process.
