Verna Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the alleged kidnapping and repeated sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl.
According to the girl’s statement to the police, the accused allegedly subjected her to sexual abuse and asked her to leave Hinduism and follow Islamic religious practices.
The girl further told police that the accused allegedly promised to marry her after she turned 18.
Verna Police have launched an investigation into the case and are recording further statements as part of the probe.
