The prime suspect in the Goa Excise job scam, Ajit Shankhwalkar, remains untraceable as police teams search outside the state for him. Panaji police have registered a case against him for taking 27 lakh rupees and providing fake documents along with a fraudulent appointment letter under the guise of an Excise Commissioner.

Further investigations reveal that the total alleged fraud amounts to 1.27 crore rupees. Besides duping Manoj Telekar regarding the job, Shankhwalkar reportedly cheated Telekar's family of 22 lakh rupees under the pretext of securing a job for his sister in the education department, and another 78 lakh rupees involving a property dispute concerning Telekar's father. Police continue their manhunt to apprehend the fugitive.
