Goa Football Association (GFA) President Valanka Alemao has proposed making government football grounds that are currently not in use available to football clubs for practice, with the aim of promoting the sport across the state.

Under the proposal, clubs would be responsible for maintaining the grounds allotted to them, helping ensure that the facilities remain usable while providing players with better access to training infrastructure.

Alemao said the GFA would write to the Goa government to seek its support and discuss the proposal.

Emphasising the importance of government assistance in developing football, the GFA president said support from the authorities was necessary to strengthen the sport and provide better opportunities for players in Goa.
