The United Tribals Association Alliance (UTAA) has warned the Goa government to expedite the process for political reservation for Scheduled Tribes (STs), stating that only five days remain before the 2.5-month deadline promised by the Chief Minister expires.

UTAA President Prakash Velip said the organisation would wait for the remaining five days as assured by the Chief Minister. However, he warned that the government must be prepared for UTAA’s next move if no concrete action is taken within the stipulated period.

Velip expressed concern over the slow pace of the reservation process amid the approaching elections and said UTAA would decide its future course of action after the deadline expires.

The warning puts renewed pressure on the state government to accelerate the process of securing political reservation for Goa’s ST community ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
