Union Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy has taken a dig at the Congress over Goa's mining sector, claiming that several mining scams had surfaced during the party's tenure, while the BJP government has brought transparency into the mining process.

Speaking during his visit to Goa, Reddy said the government is making every effort to resolve the issues surrounding the state's mining sector and ensure that mining activities resume smoothly.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant highlighted the need to balance mining activities with environmental protection. He said trees have grown on abandoned mining dumps, resulting in the development of forest-like areas.

Sawant stressed that mining should be carried out responsibly, with adequate emphasis on protecting nature and maintaining environmental balance.
