The Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) is focusing on the Ponda, Madkai and Shiroda constituencies ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly elections, with party leader Deepak Dhavalikar indicating possible candidates and electoral interests in key seats.

Speaking after the MGP executive committee meeting held at Kodar, Dhavalikar said he was interested in contesting from Shiroda. He also said Mithil had been doing good work in Madkai and that his candidature should be considered.

On Mandrem, Dhavalikar indicated that Jit Arolkar would be given the party ticket.

The executive committee meeting discussed several important resolutions, which will be presented at the party’s general body meeting scheduled for October 31.

Meanwhile, discussions between the MGP and the BJP are expected to take place after the MGP’s October 31 general body meeting, with alliance-related decisions and seat-sharing arrangements likely to remain key issues.
