RGP MLA Viresh Borkar has strongly opposed the Goa Land Revenue Code (Amendment) Bill, 2025, alleging that the legislation unfairly benefits migrants while putting native Goans at a disadvantage. Speaking in the Assembly, Borkar said that under the amendment, migrants holding just 100 sqm of land would be eligible for 400 sqm, while Goans with more than 400 sqm face the reversal of protected ownership rights.

He further alleged that the real intent behind the amendment was to facilitate the interests of the builder lobby under the guise of regularization, calling it a betrayal of Goa’s people and their ancestral land rights.
