Recent incedent suggests that the Goa Legislative Assembly elections are likely to take place in February or March of 2027. The Election Commission is currently preparing to test EVM and VVPAT machines, and population census work is expected to finish before the official election announcement. The Model Code of Conduct is likely to come into effect by late January or early February.

Major political parties in Goa have already shifted into election mode. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has started its preparations early, with State President Damu Naik submitting an action plan to central leaders. Senior party leaders like B.L. Santhosh have visited the state to review ground level preparations.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is trying his best to complete the key infrastructure projects, such as the Porvorim flyover and Borim bridge, to generate momentum of trust and reliability, before the polls.

Opposition parties are also actively gearing up for the elections. The Congress party has started strategic discussions with the Goa Forward Party to plan their election approach. The Aam Aadmi Party is working actively on local public issues to gain ground support, while the Revolutionary Goans Party is currently resolving internal party disputes.
