Goa BJP President Damu Naik on Friday said the Bharatiya Janata Party has fulfilled the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community's long-pending demand for political reservation, asserting that the party has consistently delivered on its commitments to Goa's tribal communities.

Responding to criticism from the Congress, Naik said it was the BJP-led government that granted Scheduled Tribe status to Goa's tribal communities in 2003, laying the foundation for their constitutional rights.

"The BJP has fulfilled the ST community's demand for political reservation. It was the BJP government that granted them ST status in 2003. The Congress does not need to teach us how to fulfil our promises," Naik said.
