The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will launch a statewide ‘म्हारगाय मुक्ती यात्रा’ from November 26 to December 19, covering constituencies, villages and different parts of Goa to interact with people and highlight issues affecting ordinary households.
Announcing the yatra, AAP Goa President Valmiki Naik said the campaign would begin on Constitution Day, November 26, and conclude on Goa Liberation Day, December 19. During the yatra, party leaders will meet residents, hear their grievances and understand the challenges they face, particularly due to rising prices of essential commodities and increasing household expenses.
Naik said the party would also highlight its ‘Amchi Goenkar Guarantee’, comprising six guarantees, five of which are aimed at providing financial relief to households and addressing the impact of inflation.
The guarantees include the abolition of Section 39A, free electricity along with a waiver of pending electricity bills, ₹10 lakh health insurance, ₹3,000 monthly financial assistance to every woman above 18 years of age, and free bus travel for women.
Explaining the financial benefits, Naik claimed that free electricity could save an average household around ₹3,000 per month, while the health insurance guarantee would reduce healthcare expenses. He said eligible women would receive ₹3,000 monthly directly into their bank accounts, while free bus travel could provide additional savings of around ₹2,000 per month.
According to Naik, households could save at least ₹15,000 every month if the guarantees are implemented. He described the proposals as measures to provide relief from the rising cost of living.
Naik said the yatra would not only focus on explaining the party's guarantees but would also provide people with a platform to voice their concerns and discuss issues affecting their daily lives.
