The Goa government has informed the High Court that a suitable parcel of government land has been identified for relocating the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which was removed from the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) property at Sada.

The government further submitted that the date for dismantling and reinstalling the statue will be finalised by Wednesday in consultation with the MPA.

The High Court has adjourned the matter to September 2, when further developments in the case are expected.

The relocation of the statue comes after its removal from the MPA premises at Sada, with the government now identifying an alternative government site for its reinstallation.
