A major power disruption hit South Goa on Wednesday morning after three transformers tripped simultaneously at the Xeldem substation. The incident led to a four-hour power outage affecting key regions, including Margao, Sanvordem, Sanguem, and Quepem.

According to Superintending Engineer (Elect) Ramdas Samant, damaged electrical components caused by burning during the fault, delayed immediate restoration efforts. While power was eventually restored after replacing the damaged parts, authorities noted that the exact cause of the fault is still under investigation.
