Safety concerns have intensified among daily commuters following two back-to-back incidents along the Ribandar–Chorão ferry route. The first mishap occurred aboard a Ro-Ro ferry service when a goods rickshaw slipped down off the ferry ramp. Fortunately, a major accident was averted due to the prompt alertness and timely intervention of the ferry operator on duty.

The second incident took place on the older conventional ferry boat, Shivneri, operating between Chorao and Ribandar, where a young girl sustained injuries after her hair became entangled in the vessel's hydraulic mechanism. She was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical treatment and was subsequently discharged to recover at home after receiving proper care.
