Decades after Goa’s Liberation, residents of Dab Shirshire continue to face difficulties accessing a reliable supply of drinking water, with many depending on rainwater and water tankers to meet their daily needs.

The situation has reportedly become more concerning this year, with below-expected rainfall adding to uncertainty over water availability. In the absence of a dependable supply, villagers have been forced to collect and store water from small streams flowing through their agricultural fields to meet their basic requirements.

Residents say they have repeatedly raised the issue with the concerned MLA and submitted representations to the government, seeking a permanent solution to the long-standing water shortage. However, they claim that despite receiving assurances, they are still awaiting concrete action.

The lack of a reliable drinking water supply has placed an additional burden on families, who must make alternative arrangements to secure water for everyday use.
