Earlier today, the High Court convicted him of raping a junior colleague in 2013, when she worked under him at Tehelka magazine. • A 43-year-old motorcyclist, Mahadev Chandrakant Sawant of Zuarwada, Tivrem (native of Banda, Sawantwadi), died while undergoing treatment at PHC Betki after a head-on collision between his motorcycle and a car at Khandola • An old tree fell onto a security cabin near Kamat Kinara in Panaji, trapping a security guard inside; victim feared dead; police on site and rescue efforts underway • "We will appeal the High Court's judgment in the Supreme Court.
