The traditional Vade Utsav was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Ashwin Purnima at the Shri Damodar Temple in Zambaulim, Goa, drawing devotees to witness the unique religious rituals associated with the annual festival.
The highlight of the celebration is the distinctive ritual in which the Avasar of Gram Purush Dev removes vadas by placing his hands into boiling oil, a tradition that remains central to the festival.
Vade Utsav is observed every year on Ashwin Purnima and continues for five days, reflecting the region’s rich religious and cultural heritage.
Following the vada-making ritual on Monday, Kaul Prasad will be offered to devotees from tonight, allowing worshippers to participate in the customary religious observances.
The festival continues to hold a special place in the local community, bringing devotees together to celebrate age-old traditions and seek the blessings of the deity.
