Ponda Police have registered a case against PC Vinod following a complaint by 27-year-old Shreyash Hardikar of Antruz Nagar, Curti, Ponda. The incident occurred on 10th September 2025 around 10:40 PM, when the accused allegedly assaulted Hardikar with a wooden dowel rod, injuring his neck and damaging his mobile phone. The accused also reportedly used abusive language.

The case, Cr. No. 145/2025, has been filed under Sections 118(1), 324(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Investigation is currently underway.

SP South Goa Tikam Singh Verma emphasized that any misconduct or dereliction of duty by police personnel—on or off duty—will not be tolerated, and strict disciplinary or legal action will follow if found guilty. He reiterated that the Goa Police is committed to upholding the rule of law and maintaining public trust through transparency and accountability.
