Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has directed the Director of Education (DoE) not to transfer lecture-based teachers from higher secondary schools where student protests are underway. Newly promoted teachers posted at these institutions will also continue. DoE has been asked to ensure that the student protests are brought to an end. • Air India Express has filed its Winter 2026 international network changes, with a key boost for Goa as the Goa-Dabolim–Dubai service is set to resume at 7 flights weekly. The airline has also announced several new routes, resumptions and frequency changes across its international network. The winter schedule remains subject to change and may evolve closer to the season. • Prashant Joshi has been elected Chairman of the Goa chapter of the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). CM Sawant says Goa is now kerosene-free, with almost all households having access to LPG or PNG connections; He said families still without a gas connection can apply for a new LPG/PNG connection under the government’s initiative. • Five unidentified thieves allegedly broke into a flat at a residential society in Ganeshpuri, Mapusa, around 1 AM and stole gold jewellery, including a mangalsutra, earrings and rings. The suspects reportedly fled after the owner arrived. • Three shops in the vegetable market area of Mapusa market were broken into by unidentified thieves. The burglars reportedly fled with a small amount of cash and other items. • Verna Police have arrested Mercedes driver Vidhyadhar Prabhu after registering a case under relevant sections, including culpable homicide; the arrest follows the death of 37-year-old motorcyclist Ashok Chavan, whose bike was allegedly rammed by the speeding Mercedes at Shindolim, Sancoale, and dragged for nearly 2 km before both vehicles caught fire and were completely gutted. • Goa Staff Selection Commission has invited online applications for 215 Group ‘C’ vacancies in various Government of Goa departments.
