About this episode

A place is more than its streets, buildings and landscapes. It is the people, their stories, their voices and the conversations that bring a community to life. Across Goa, countless stories are lived, shared and passed on every day. Stories of people, culture, music, traditions, local issues and everyday life — stories that deserve to be heard. With this idea, Radio Mandovi 88.4 FM, launched by the PACT Foundation on August 22, provides a new space on the airwaves for community voices. The station puts community stories in focus, creating a space where local voices can speak, share and connect. From artists and musicians to content creators and communities across Goa, Radio Mandovi brings a wider range of voices into the conversation. Because when communities have a space to tell their own stories, we don't just hear radio — we hear Goa. Radio Mandovi 88.4 FM — bringing community voices to the forefront. In this special feature, we speak with Dr Ashwin Fernandes, who leads Radio Mandovi 88.4 FM, Goa’s first community radio station, based in the village of Moira. We explore the idea behind the station, its focus on community stories and the role it plays in giving local voices a space to be heard. #RadioMandovi #RadioMandovi884FM #CommunityVoices #VoicesOfGoa #Goa #GoanStories #GoaCommunity #LocalStories #CommunityRadio #GoanCulture #GoanArtists #GoanMusicians #LocalVoices #StoriesOfGoa #GoaStories #PACTFoundation #GoaMedia #PeopleOfGoa #GoanVoices #CommunityStories
