The Goa High Court today rejected two Public Interest Litigations (PILs) challenging the mega development project in Sancoale, promoted by Parmesh Constructions Company Limited (Bhutani Infra). The petitions, filed by Goa Bachao Abhiyan, Peter D’Souza, and others, alleged multiple violations, including construction on steep slopes, absence of environmental clearance, and disregard for various regulatory norms. The petitioners had sought to halt the large-scale, high-density project, citing potential threats to public safety and the environment in Sancoale village. Justice Bharati Dangre delivered the judgment virtually this afternoon, dismissing both PILs and allowing the project to proceed.
